Faraway, Sometimes So Close

From the old prehistoric days up to the present, the nature has always been an obsession for artists. For the man and art of antiquity, the nature had acted as a context and vehicle for the human presence while mainly having a subjective characteristic. The man, nonetheless, had gradually been turning against the nature. The new man leaves the nature and watches the world as a conscious observer trying to know and revealing its secret. Elham Qorbani-Nejad confronts the nature in “Faraway, Sometimes, So Close” series in the same way. The artist stands within varying distances of the nature to piece together her jigsaw during her every observation of the world and narrates this journey in the same language previously used to talk about the man
